“Alone” Tops This Week’s Top 25 Under $5

Every Sunday, we offer up a list of the Top 25 Bargain Bestsellers in the Kindle Store: the bestselling fiction for $5 or less.

This week, Lisa Gardner’s Alone moves up three spots to claim the #1 place as the bestselling fiction title priced at $5 or under in the Kindle Store.  From Booklist:

It was bad enough that Catherine Gagnon survived a horrible childhood abduction where for a month she lived in a cave and was the plaything for her sicko abductor. But now, 25 years later, she faces tragedy again as she fights to keep her son, Nathan. One chilly November night, a police sniper kills her husband, Jimmy, in response to her 911 call claiming he was about to hurt Nathan. Jimmy’s death means that his parents, an influential judge and his blue-blooded wife, are more determined than ever to take Nathan from Catherine, whom they see as unfit to mother their only grandchild. True, the birth of Nathan mentally paralyzed Catherine, who could not get past the memories of her abduction and her emotionally absent parents. But is she really the monster the Gagnons and their PI make her out to be? Massachusetts state police special-ops officer Bobby Dodge, the sniper who took out Jimmy, doesn’t think so, and unwittingly falls under the spell of the manipulative widow. A twisted, effective psychological thriller.

Amanda Hocking continues to dominate bestselling bargain-priced fiction in the Amazon Kindle Store, with all three of her Trylle Trilogy paranormal romance series, as well as all four of her My Blood Approves vampire series represented in the Top 25.

Newcomers to the list this week include:

Lethal People (A Donovan Creed Novel): Donovan Creed, a former CIA assassin, is a very tough man with a weakness for very easy women. Meet him in LETHAL PEOPLE, a relentlessly entertaining crime novel that’s often LOL – bizarre funny! The action is fast and furious, the dialogue smart, savvy and sexy.  This title joins Saving Rachel, another of John Locke’s Donovan Creed books.

Her Last Letter: In the Colorado mountain town of Glenwood Springs, not far from Aspen, artist/photographer Gwyn Sanders discovers a cryptic letter her sister Kelly left behind. The victim of a deadly hit and run, Kelly reveals she was sexually involved with her sister’s boyfriend and is scared for her life.

The Sculptor: A serial killer calling himself the Sculptor, who reshapes his victims into replicas of works by Michelangelo, sends creepy messages to art historian Cathy Hildebrant whose book on Michelangelo’s work is an inspiration for the murders. FBI special agent Sam Markham asks her help.

The Strip (The Big Bad Wolf Series): The emerald-eyed Malcolm Cole is a cursed werewolf, an alpha in the most powerful sense who has given up hope for any kind of happiness or peace in his life. Until he catches wind of Claire. Claire St.James, who goes by Charlie among friends, is an amazing young woman with an incredibly special gift. Cole recognizes this at once and swears on the spot to claim Charlie as his mate.
